Dry fermentation from Thöni Industriebetriebe GmbH

Around 25,000 tons of organic waste will be separated and fermented at the newly constructed dry fermentation plant for the extraction of biogas at the Brandholz landfill park operated by Thöni Industriebetriebe GmbH.

The special challenge

In order to be able to feed this amount of material into the dry fermentation plant, it was necessary to construct a total of 95 m of conveyor technology in a confined space. Just a few millimetres were often decisive for the installation and the associated optimum utilisation of the available space. The material feed was safely and effectively designed using specially manufactured troughed conveyors.

Trusted technology

Thöni had already relied on plant construction from the company Günther at a variety of locations even before this assignment. As a result of their experience with the tried-and-tested technology, the decision was ultimately made to also place the implementation of this project into the hands of an experienced project manager from Günther. Alongside the conveyor technology, a screening system and a dosing feeder were also integrated into the project. Consequently, it is now possible to ensure the optimal flow of materials.

Just-in-time and more

As a result of the combined efforts of all involved, it was possible to complete the installation and commissioning of the plant shortly before the deadline and start operations on time.
