Kilb benefits from the flexibility of the mobile eddy current separator E2000

The material discharge of non-ferrous metals with the E2000 forms the final step in the production process that determines the quality.

Kilb Entsorgung GmbH in Kelkheim is a small to medium-sized company in the sector of waste disposal for industry, trade, commerce and municipalities. Their scope of services includes container service, treatment, composting, recycling yards, scrap and metal sales as well as disposal consulting.

In the area of valuable materials recycling, the company has become a supplier of biomass and refused derived fuels that replace fossil fuels in power plants. The composition of the fuels plays a major role at this. Impurities such as metal are undesired and reduce the quality of fuels considerably.

Requirement

Kilb purchases waste wood of categories A I to A III and processes it to biomass fuel. A flexible and mobile solution was pursued for the material discharge of non-ferrous metals (NFM) from the various incoming materials.

Solution

After examining different solutions offered on the market, Kilb decided for the mobile eddy current separator E2000 manufactured by Günther in Wartenberg. The E2000 can be set up at any location on the plant premises. Thanks to the diesel generator it is quite independent in terms of power supply. This gives the machine unlimited flexibility in its use.

Following the upstream shredder of the incoming material and FE discharge, NFM separation with the E2000 forms the final step in the production process that eventually determines the quality.

Data and Facts

  • The E2000 is a mobile machine with single-axle undercarriage and manoeuvring drawbar.
  • The core is a NFM separator from Steinert Co. (eddy current separator with adjustable eccentric pole system and adjustable separating vertex).
  • Power is supplied by a rugged and dust-protected diesel generator.
  • Throughput at uniform feeding of the shred waste wood is up to 60 t/h.
  • The machine comes with the following options:
    • Reversible fan to clean the generator filter door
    • Direct connection 400 V/50 Hz within the generator room
    • Turbo III pre-filter for engine air
    • Material distribution plough for the uniform distribution of the input material
    • Custom colour

Customer conclusion

After six months of operation plant manager Dirk Schäfer draws a positive conclusion. “The E2000 offers a high degree of flexibility. The machine’s design is simple but effective. All of our requirements are met. The NFM discharge rate and throughput are very good. The E2000 is ideally suited for our production process running in 2 shifts, and it runs without complications.”
