Recycling systems made in Germany - GÜNTHER offers a high level of vertical integration for more individuality and flexibility

ANLAGENBAU GÜNTHER is a 100-year-old family business and a leading manufacturer in the recycling industry. The recycling industry itself is just as diverse as everything that is understood by “plant engineering”. The term is widely used and is associated with different requirements depending on the business field. So what does GÜNTHER produce, how does the company define “plant engineering” and what challenges does the recycling industry present?

The recycling industry places individual demands on plant manufacturers
Unlike a mechanical engineer or component manufacturer, the plant engineer plans a complete process. He considers the boundary conditions and combines technical components to form an overall system that pursues a predefined task or goal. The recycling industry is faced with the general problem of “separating and recycling waste”. The field of activity in which ANLAGENBAU GÜNTHER operates is specifically faced with the challenge of separating waste such as household and commercial waste, plastic, organic waste, etc. in such a way that it can be recycled as effectively as possible. This means processing the waste in such a way that at the end of the process chain, plastic, for example, is ready for the next recycling stage or a finished substitute fuel is produced that can be used in industry.
Such a plant contains a wide range of components from shredders, various screening systems, conveyor technology and extensive electronics and control technology. Every customer has different requirements for their plant during the planning phase and has different economic conditions and capacities at their location, such as the size of the hall and the nature of the waste that is delivered. The plants have different scopes. Sometimes an existing plant is expanded or components are replaced in order to increase efficiency, while at other times a completely new processing plant is planned for the customer.

Innovations for tomorrow: processing and sorting technology
For decades, the core competence of ANLAGENBAU GÜNTHER has been the development of intelligent technologies in the field of processing and sorting technology. For the implementation of successful projects, it is irrelevant whether customers approach GÜNTHER with a problem, an initial idea or a finished concept. The project planners are well versed in the industry and provide competent and flexible advice from the objective to the finished, functioning and efficient concept. The high level of vertical integration within the company minimizes interfaces and the responsible project manager can react quickly and flexibly to questions, requests and optimizations. At GÜNTHER, the demands on quality are high, which is why primarily in-house technologies are installed in the systems and purchased parts are only sourced from renowned manufacturers. The systems are manufactured by specialists in our own “Made in Germany” production facility and delivered all over the world.

Good systems are only created when all specialists work hand in hand
ANLAGENBAU GÜNTHER manufactures all machines and systems at its site in Wartenberg (Hesse). The company does not define “manufacture” as the actual production of the machine components, but rather the entire process from planning to design, project management, production in its own production hall as well as on-site assembly, instruction, maintenance and training. Appropriate specialists are available at the company site for all areas. This means that the work for the plant manufacturer begins long before the actual construction of the plant. Engineers create detailed plans and technical drawings of the plant, including the selection of suitable materials, components and technologies. If the design of the plant is satisfactory for the customer, project management takes over the order. The coordination of employees should not be underestimated in this process, as the various teams and disciplines such as civil engineers, electricians, mechanics and automation specialists work together to successfully implement the project. At the customer's site, the fitters first assemble all the components - both GÜNTHER's own components such as steel construction, intake and feed units, conveyor technology and the separation technologies SPLITTER, star screens and air separators, as well as third-party components such as shredders, magnetic separators and other separation technologies - to create the finished system. The electrical installation then begins and the system components are connected to each other in terms of control technology. After successful commissioning and extensive testing, the employees who are to operate the system in the customer's plant are finally instructed. Safety aspects are addressed and training on the operation and maintenance of the system is provided. “The system is finished when the customer is satisfied” is GÜNTHER's own claim.

Good service extends the service life of the system
The ANLAGENBAU GÜNTHER service team is then ready to provide further support at any time. Good service support with short response times extends the service life of the system and ensures smooth operation of the system. The GÜNTHER service staff regularly go out for maintenance, during which the systems are subjected to a complete inspection and test. They train the operating personnel, provide help and advice in case of questions, carry out optimizations if necessary and, in an emergency, quickly take care of the delivery of spare parts and repairs.
