TMA Bark relies on the TAKER and SPLITTER technology made by GÜNTHER

TMA bark uses TAKER and SPLITTER in two large production facilities in Great Britain

TMA Bark Supplies Ltd. is one of the largest producers of bark, mulch and wood chips in Great Britain. Products have a diverse range of applications. This includes gardening, landscaping and the or covering of playgrounds. The usage options are determined by the starting material but also the particle size (nuggets) of the finished product. 14 different product types are marketed altogether.

Product quality is guaranteed by using state of the art and efficient production methods. In the framework of planning for a new large production facility in Norfolk TMA Bark was searching for solutions to optimise the overall production processes. The decision was made in 2015to include a combination of receiving station TAKER Type T18 and a downstream SPLITTER Unit 425.

TAKER and SPLITTER as No. 1 in the production process

Raw bark material is received by the TAKER T18 receiving station and transported optimally dosed to the downstream screening process with the spiral shaft separator SPLITTER Unit 425.

Depending on the type and density of the material being processed, the average throughput is 250 m³/h; with a maximum throughput reaching 350 m³/h.

TAKER and SPLITTER can be ideally matched and co-ordinated to ensure a consistent quality of the end products.

Objective achieved

By deploying TAKER and SPLITTER logs, brash and contaminating materials, such as rocks, stones and metal are removed at the start of the production process.

  • The quality of the end products have significantly improved.
  • Wear and tear of the plant was significantly reduced.
  • The production yield was increased enormously.

Customer conclusion

Shane Andrews, Operations Director at TMA Bark is extremely satisfied about the final solution: “TMA Bark invested in the TAKER and SPLITTER technology from GÜNTHER Co. as part of a bespoke production plant, based at our advanced production facility in Norfolk (UK). The TAKER and SPLITTER have contributed to advanced improvements in our end products. A significant increase in the total throughput allows us to meet the increasing demands from our customers. The machines are extremely rugged. Today – even after more than 2,000 hours of operation – we have not yet required a single spare part."
