Treatment of the top overburden

Treatment with the SPLITTER TWIN WAVE

  • Mix of soil, loam and stones (dry, moist and wet condition)
  • Grain size up to approx. 400 mm
  • Screen section approx. 50 / 80 mm
  • Output
    • clean oversized grain for further processing
    • Undersized grain of loam, soil and stones < 50 mm
  • Thanks to its unique screen deck form the SPLITTER TWIN WAVE enables ideal treatment - without the consistency of the material influencing the screening results.
  • The loam, which is more like a moulding mass with respect to its consistency, is peeled off by the spiral shafts and is continuously deformed and separated by the dynamic behaviour of the stones on the screen deck.
  • The trough-like screen deck breaks the material by means of the counter-rotating spiral shafts. The operator can influence the dwell time on the screen deck by individually adjusting the inclination.

Stockpile reduction

Treatment with the SPLITTER TWIN WAVE

  • Mixture of soil, loam and stones (wet, after a period of rain)
  • Grain size up to approx. 400 mm
  • Screen section approx. 50 / 80 mm
  • Output
    • clean oversized grain for further processing
    • Undersized grain of loam, soil and stones < 50 mm
  • With the unique separation method of the SPLITTER TWIN WAVE up to 75% of raw materials can be gained from the stockpile and a corresponding reduction of the stockpile volume can be reached - depending on the material condition and composition of the stockpiles.

SPLITTER practical example for stockpile reduction

Quarry

In this case it is the objective to separate the material of an overburden dump, a previously unusable mineral mix, into 2 fractions.

The useful rock (oversized grain) is made available for further processing, whereas the undersized grain (smaller than 50 / 80 mm), a stone-soil mix, can be deposited.

Loaded material: Material from overburden dump with a grain size of up to 400 mm / oversized material is separated via the grating

Target material: Stones/homogeneous oversized grain of grain size 80 / 400 mm

Limestone quarry Germany

Task definition

  • Separation of material from a stockpile, i.e. which previously has been useless and space requiring material, into 2 fractions
  • Separation of useful rock (oversized grain) for further processing of soil, loam and stone mix (undersized grain < 50 7 80 mm)

Local conditions

  • In dry condition and after approx. 120 l/m² of rain over 2 days
  • Loading of the plant with a 40t tracked excavator

Advantages of treatment with SPLITTER TWIN WAVE

  • Consistent screening power due to the active screen gap
  • Self-cleaning screen system
  • problem-free processing even in case of impurities
  • Can also be used with materials that have not been pre-treated
  • Exchangeable screen deck for different grain sizes
  • 100% diesel-electric, low fuel consumption
  • low drive power

Conclusion

  • Throughput 150-300 t/h (depending on material condition and consistency)
  • According to the distribution of material this case results in a raw material recovery of approx. 75%
  • The stockpile volume in the quarry is considerably reduced to only approx. ¼ of the previously required floor space/volume
